The fishing & catching from Puerto Morelos took a slight downturn this past week and I would suppose it was due to a lack of charter action from the Marina? There were a total of 12 charters for the week that reflected a total variety of 10 species of fish for the boats and anglers that resulted in 5 dorado, 8 giant Atlantic barracuda, 18 bonito, 9 triggerfish, 16 snappers, 6 grouper, 4 strawberry fish, 1 porkyfish, 1 sandfish and 2 soapfish. This surely isn't one of the better fish reports from Puerto Morelos, but it is what was caught for the last week. However, it will change. Now, with the freezing weather hitting the east, the people will start to flow off the east coast and into the tropics for the warm weather and of course, the fishing in the Mexican Caribbean and that will build the numbers of fishing days and the fishing results.

PM Climate: Partly cloudy days with intermittent sunshine periods and 10-15 mph surface winds coming in from the north. Temps are holding at 61 nights to 83 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: A little bumpy this past week with surface wind chop but temps are holding well at 84-85 degrees.

Best Bait/Lure: The ballyhoo again surfaces as the bait of choice for the entire region and has continuously been provided fresh on a daily basis.
