Shogun reports fantastic Yellowfin & Dorado fishing
11-7-2012
Bill Roecker
"We had some fantastic yellowfin and dorado fishing today," reported Aaron Barnhill from Shogun November 6. "All morning long we kept our rods bent and our lines tight as the mahi and yellowfin tuna came pouring over the rail. The tuna were a bit of a mixed grade today with fish going anywhere from 10 to 30 pounds, and the mahi were all quality 15 to 35-pounders. After we had our fill of those, we put the wahoo jigs out and by the end of the day we were able to scratch up 13 nice wahoo to 40 pounds.
"Weather today started off a bit choppy with a 12-knot breeze and a smoking uphill current, but as the day progressed the wind and current both diminished and the sea conditions drastically improved. Tonight we plan to make a short move and try for a few bigger tuna in the morning."
