Fish Report for 10-25-2012
The fishing action in the Zihuatanejo remains very good according to Capt. Temo Verboonen
10-25-2012

According to Captain Temo Verboonen, the fishing & catching remained very good with the bulk of the action at about 14 miles out front of Zihuatanejo Bay. It was a better than 3 sailfish strikes per boat day and the dorado were still in the keeper sizes, mostly in the 40-plus pound ranges. The inshore fishing, especially in the area in front of Saladita, provided excellent action for the big jacks and roosterfish and lots of bonitos. It was really a terrific area of action for the light tackle enthusiasts. The best part of the week for us was the anglers are finally showing up at the dock again and the crews are more than anxiously looking forward to return to the good fishing days that will please their customers.
IZ Climate: Partly cloudy days with intermittent sunny periods and temps that ranged from 72 nights to 92 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Finally, it seems to have settled down into respectable fishing weather with good seas for the most part, light swell conditions and gentle surface breezes and sea temps that are stable and near perfect in the 84-85 degree ranges. Excellent water clarity at about 8 miles and beyond.
Best Fishing Area: Starting at about 13 miles and trolling outbound to the 14 mile mark seems to be working very well for the skippers with good sealife throughout this area and all of the tell-tale signs of good fishing.
Best Lure/Bait: The fresh rigged trolling baits are doing very well for the sailfish and the big dorados and while a few fish are being taken on the artificials, the rigged baits are best.
Bait Supply: Remains very good for both, live bait and fresh caught baits for rigging.
