Puerto Morelos had a nice mixed-bag catch this week

A rather upbeat fishing report came in from the Puerto Morelos area that included 3 sailfish in the mixed bag catch and resulted in a 5.6 fish per day average for the boats. The wide spectrum fish report consisted of 13 species that included 3 sailfish, 5 dorado, 12 giant Atlantic barracuda, 24 bonito, 1 wahoo, 2 king mackerel and 1 blackfin tuna for the surface action and 1 banana fish, 1 strawberry fish, 3 grouper, 12 mixed red & mutton snappers, 4 amberjack and 10 triggerfish.

PM Climate: Mostly scattered clouds with intermittent sunshine, temps that varied from 72 nights to 89 daytime highs and light & variable surface breezes.

Sea Conditions: Overall, it's been a very good sea condition week with stable sea temps that are still holding at 85 degrees throughout the area and excellent clarity in the offshore waters.

Best Bait: The ballyhoo continues to be the bait of choice and is readily available in a daily caught fresh supply.
