"Yesterday was an epic dorado day," wrote Red Rooster III skipper Andy Cates October 9, "with really nice fish. Flat calm hot weather, with dorado swimming through the corner. Probably where our jackpot fish will come from. Dorado for jackpot? It is looking that way. We anchored up and caught some more small tuna and another grouper and a few yellows.
"We started working up this morning after 40 small tuna on another ridge spot and no Wahoo. Trolling our way up now and will be at Cedros tomorrow for a few Yellows in the morning and then maybe a little Bass fishing. Baitmaking and then we'll be offshore for the finale."
