Not much change at the Owens River Gorge
10-11-2012

Water Conditions: Great the flow is at 45 CFS. This is a permanent flow required to be maintained by LADWP.
Fishing Conditions and Hatches: Not much changing here week to week. Stinging nettles are back. Also watch out for snakes. (and tics) Nettles should be gone after the first cold snap. Shouldn't be long now.
Recommended Flies:
DRIES: Royal Wulf #14-16, Rubber Leg Stimulator, Yellow Humpy 18, Kaufman Stimulator 16, Yellow Humpy #16, Taylor's Fat Albert #14
NYMPHS: Red Copper John #18, Green Copper John #18, BH Prince Nymph #18, Western Coachman # 16, Stocker's BH Lightning Bug #18.

for Thursday, October 11th, 2012Mammoth Lakes : Fishing is very good in the Mammoth Lakes area
Hot Creek: Hot Creek is fishing better in the late mornings & mid-afternoons
San Joaquin River: The San Joaquin water levels are,low making the fishing more technical
Crowley Lake: Fishing is still good at Crowley, but the fish are more spread out
Owens River: The action at the Upper Owens is definitely picking up
Rock Creek - Section 1: Fish the lakes along the way to Rock Creek
Rush Creek: Rush Creek is fishing best above the 395 in the afternoons
Owens River: The flows are back up on the Lower Owens, but the fishing is good if you can find some slow water
Bridgeport Reservoir: The weeds at Bridgeport is making the fishing more difficult
East Walker River (CA): Fishing on the East Walker is OK, the flows are down and the water has some algae

for Friday, October 5th, 2012Mammoth Lakes : Fishing in the Mammoth Lakes area is great
Hot Creek: No crowds at Hot Creek and active fish chomping flies on the surface.
San Joaquin River: Fishing is fair at the San Joaquin and the flows are almost too slow
Crowley Lake: The big fish at lake Crowley are more spread out which makes the fish harder to find
Owens River: Fishing at the Upper Owens has not hit the hot meter yet
Owens River: Fishing hasn't changed much at the Owens River Gorge
Rock Creek - Section 1: Fish the lakes on the way up to Rock Creek
Rush Creek: Rush Creek is fishing very well above 395, especially in the afternoon
Owens River: The flows are dropping on the Lower Owens
Bridgeport Reservoir: There are good hatches at Bridgeport Reservoir, the problem is finding the fish
East Walker River (CA): The best results on the East Walker are to use mayfly nymphs in the mornings
