Fish the lakes on the way up to Rock Creek
10-5-2012
The Trout Fitter Staff
Water Conditions: Good the flows are at 38 cfs as of 10/3.
Fishing Conditions and Hatches: Good we are not seeing very many fish in the mosquito flats area. Better to hike the trail a bit and fish the lakes along the way instead. Just be aware that the days are getting shorter so don't wait too long to hike out otherwise you'll be doing it in the dark.
Recommended Flies:
DRIES: Parachute Adams #16, Elk Hair Caddis #18, Crystal Humpy #16, Royal Coachman #16, Rubber Leg Stimulator, Yellow Humpy 18, Kaufman Stimulator 16, Taylor's Fat Albert #14
NYMPHS: Copper John #20-22, Red/Green Copper John #20-22, BH Prince Nymph #18, Stocker's BH Lightning Bug #18, Birds Nest Olive/Tan #16
Guides Hint: Dry dropper rigs are working best with a bright pattern on the bottom.
