Fish Report for 10-1-2012
The bass bite was as hot as the weather at Lake Jennings
10-1-2012
Helix Ranger
Hello from Your Lake Jennings: Most of it was dropshot fish in 30 to 50 ft. of water on the pink and purple worms. However fishing the first and last hour with frogs along the weedline produced bass. Cats also cooperated in Cloister Cove, along the dam buoyline from shore in Siesta Cove.
Best Cat Spots: Anywhere along the dam buoyline.
Best Cat Bait: Mackerel and chicken livers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: Fish the weed line early and late with frogs. Morning Dawn worms.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Morning Dawn worms and frogs.
Water Temp: 80 degrees
Prognosis: Our crystal ball has been a little foggy so we will base our prediction on past years. We think that the catfish will improve. Some of the years' best catfishing has been the first couple of months of trout fishing as accidental catches. We also expect that the good bass bite will only improve until the water hits 65 degrees.
