Fish Report for 9-23-2012
The fishing, weather and scenery is about as good as it gets at Silver Lake
9-23-2012

The leaves on the Aspens are just starting to change color, the weather is cooling of with cold nights and mild days and the fishing continues to stay stellar. We had several very nice size rainbows come in and even more stringers. The fishing has been best during the early morning and late afternoon still, but things will continue to change as the water temperature continues to get colder and the fish start to rise towards the top. As always, Salmon Peach, Salmon Egg Red and Garlic Power Baits have been doing well from shore and boats during the middle of the day and throwing a Gold Red Thomas Buoyant or a lure with some red patterns has seen some great action this past week. Also, as the lake starts to turn and the fish rise to the top, try using some dry flies like a #14 Adams Parachute, a #16 Sierra Bright Dot or a #14 Black Gnat with red tail. Also, don't forget to throw a worm or two at the fish, you might get a nice size brown to take a nibble on your hook.

Silver Lake will be open for the season until October 15th, so there is still time to come on out and have breakfast in the Cafe which is open daily from 7am till 2pm. Sit and have a great meal and enjoy the beauty of the Fall in the Eastern Sierras as the Aspens continue to turn their beautiful golden orange.
Happy fishing and Good Luck!!!
