Fish Report for 9-16-2012
Fishing has been very good at Silver Lake & should get better for the fall season
9-16-2012
Andrew Jones
Fishing continues to stay very steady at Silver Lake over the past several weeks and should only get better as Fall starts to head our way. The colors on the Aspens are just starting to show small signs of light yellow here and there and with only a month left in the season here at Silver Lake Resort, yet another year is passing by. Don't worry though, fishing will stay great up until the end. DFG planted on this past Tuesday and we got yet another load of Alper's on Wednesday and should still get one more load this next week. We have had countless good looking fish brought in this past week on a variety of different baits, lures and flies. Early morning temperatures are right around the upper 30's to low 40's and getting out on the lake early while it is calm has been the best bet. Using an Olive Matuka or a Green Wooly Bugger has produced some very nice trout. During the day, make sure you use Salmon Egg Red, Salmon Peach or Berkley Pinch Crawlers. Still take it as deep as you can during the mid day as the sun is still pushing the fish deeper in the water. Also, tossing a lure along the road side of the lake as the shadows start to show on the lake in the later part of the day has seen some real good results. Try a Thomas Buoyant Gold/Red, a Rainbow Kastmaster, or a Lip Ripper in these shadows and it should produce some winners.
