Dock Closes: 6:30 P.M.
Last Plant: 1,000 lbs of Channel Catfish Friday August 10th.

Water Temperature: At surface 76.64 f., 6.17 D.O. @ 15' 76.82 f., 6.22 D.O.
Water Level: Low level, private water craft are currently banned.

In order to protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels, there is still a temporary ban on private water craft and equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment includes private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contacts the water.

Lake Wohlford is offering $20 all day motorboats to active military on the first and third Saturdays of each month.

The lake will be closed on weekdays through fall, re-opening for weekday fishing in December with the first Trout plant. The park will remain open on weekends.

Catfish are being caught especially on the East end near the mouth of the canal. The Catfish respond well to chicken liver or cut mackerel. Stop by the ranger station for a dough bait recipe that works great on both Catfish and Carp.

The Bass can be found mostly around structure and bite best in the early mornings and late afternoons. Felix Lopez of Escondido caught a 4.95# Bass Sunday on a plastic worm on Senior Shoreline. Dark colored plastics are the preferred bait.
