Local fisherman catches 5 channel cats weighing 37 lbs total. The largest fish weighed in at 9 lbs. He was using shad caught with a net from the shoreline.

Elsinore continues to have the best catfishing in the area. Fish averaging 3 to 6 lbs. are common with some fish to 12 lbs. being taken. Anglers have been getting bites on shad, chunk sardines & nightcrawlers. For best results in the morning fish shallow and then deeper as the day goes on.
