Lake Alpine has been excellent with a 9lb Rainbow caught over this last weekend. Trollers should try either Apex or Needlefish tipped with a nightcrawler behind a small dodger. Try starting at 15 feet and go down from there. Fly casters should try woolly buggers, and nymphs. Bait casters should try the new Gulp Power Bait, Floating Power Eggs, Gulp Nightcrawlers, and inflated nightcrawler on a 15" to 20" leader. Just a reminder if you use a weight 1/2 oz. or larger your leader must be 18" or longer.

The North Fork of the Stanislaus has been doing excellent due to all the recent trout plants. Lure casters should try Kastmasters, Rapalas, and Panther Martin Spinners. Bait casters should try split-shotting crickets, inflated nightcrawlers, the new Gulp Power Bait, Gulp Eggs, Gulp Nightcrawlers, salmon eggs, and Floating Power Eggs with a 15" to 20" leader. Fly casters should try woolly buggers, nymphs, stimulators, and blue wing olive flies.

White Pines Lake located near Arnold continues to be planted heavily and has been excellent fishing. Bait casters should try Floating Power Eggs, the new Gulp Power Bait, Gulp Eggs, Gulp Nightcrawlers, and inflated nightcrawlers with a 15" to 20" leader either on the bottom or under a bobber.

Spicer continues to pump out limits of nice rainbows by trollers. Trollers should try Apex, or Needlefish,tipped with a nightcrawler, behind a small dodger or a flasher and nightcrawler. Bait casters should try inflated nighcrawlers, crickets, the new Gulp Power Bait, Gulp Nighcrawlers, and Floating Power Eggs. Lure casters should try Kastmasters, Rooster Tails, and Panther Martin spinners. Fly casters should try ants, nymphs, and woolly buggers.

Mosquito Lake has been excellent due to recent trout plants. Fly casters should try ants, woolly buggers, and nymphs. Lure casters should try Kastmasters, Rooster Tails, and Panther Martin spinners. This past Memorial weekend kicked off an awesome fishing and camping season along the Hwy 4 corridor. Ebbetts Pass is open and most of the high country lakes are now open for fishing. Ebbetts Pass is now open. Still no reports of fishing in the high country. The fishing along the hwy 4 corridor has been excellent. With recent trout plants at Alpine, No. Fork of the Stanislaus, Beaver Creek, and White Pines this should be a productive Memorial weekend. The road to Spicer is now open.
