"We had a nice day of fishing today," wrote Red Rooster III skipper Andy Cate July 16. "Great weather and good action on decent size bluefin tuna. With 96 Bluefin the guys had plenty of chances at a decent fish. Nothing bigger than 30 pounds but nice fish on the light line. We had one morning 'plunker drift' that lasted for a couple of hours and then fast hit and go action on schools. The action lasted until late evening and right into dinner. We are hoping to have similar success tomorrow.
"The weather forecast looks good for the next couple of days and our best bet is to stay offshore rather than head into an island for yellowtail. We did get a few nice yellows off a kelp and will gladly welcome more of that in the next two days."
