Fish Report for 6-24-2012

Bass & Catfish Fishing is good, Striper is slowing, Panfish is starting up at Diamond Valley Lake

Surface Water Temp: 75-76 degrees
Fish Plants: No more Mt. Lassen trout plants scheduled.
Lake Hours: 5:30am-7pm
Weather: The Forecasts show temperatures in the high 70's to high 90's this week with morning fog. There has been moderate winds in the late afternoon.

BASS
Bass fishing has been good. Anglers are catching bass anywhere between 30 ft to surface of water. Majority of the fish reported were caught on senkos or dropshotting pink or purple plastic worms. Colored plastics, such as, Margarita mutilator and Morning dawn have been effective.

STRIPER
Striper fishing is slowing down a bit. Recent catches have still been at the bouy line by the I/O tower. Anglers are still catching fish on sardines and anchovies.

CATFISH
Catfish have been reported by anglers this week. 10 year old Jesikah Mena, pictured above from Hemet caught a 7.07 lb cat using dough bait. Nightcrawlers and shrimp work well also for catfish.

TROUT
No reports lately on any trout being caught. Powerbait, mini jigs, and nightcrawlers work well for trout when they are being caught.

PANFISH
Bluegill fishing is starting up by the East Dam ladders. Anglers reported limits of bluegill using jigs and mealworms. Curtis, photo #1 from Long Beach caught a 2.05lb bluegill this week. Redear are start to show themselves also by the East Dam and the shallow spots.
