Chubasco II takes out 15 Anglers who catch 52 Yellowtail, May 23, 2012

"We had a phenomenal day of Yellowtail fishing aboard the Chubasco II," reported Ernie Prieto. "We had 15 anglers land 52 Yellowtail. Nice grade of fish, I'm going to call it an 18 to 22 lb. average on the fish. The Jackpot fish came in at 30 lbs. Yoyo irons, service irons and fly-lined sardines all were really productive today.

Captain Ernie called in to tell us about the Chubasco II fishing today, "We went out with a real light load of 8 people. We had a nice trip, we ended up with 2 Yellowtail to 32 lbs. and a White Seabass that was around 30 lbs. We ended up losing a few Yellowtail and a couple to the Sea Lions also. Chubasco 2 - May 8th - 1/2 Day Yellowtail

We have a very light load for tomorrow and we are leaving the dock at 9am returning around 4 pm. This trip will be targeting local Yellowtail that have been seen in very good numbers the last few days. The fish are in the 20-25 lbs range and up.
