Royal Polaris Crew
HAVING AN AMAZING TIME (050412)!!! RP Family,
We did not have the morning bite we had in the past few days but I can tell you that we are all having a great time. In fact, this short respite was well needed from the pre-dawn to post-dusk fishing we have experienced during the first half of the trip. With the help of the crew, we used the start of the day to repair tackle and prepare for the onslaught we all know is inevitable. We ended the day with wahoo and tuna. We only had one fish over 200lbs mark today, the lucky angler was Clyde Smith, with a 225.7 pound Yellowfin tuna. We also had a jumbo Pargo, caught by chartermaster Bill, just check out the picture.
The crew has been amazing throughout the trip and has gone out of their way to make sure everyone is having a great time. They have saved so many fish from tangles (many a save seem like a magic trick) and even in one case a dive under the boat to save a fish. It never ceases to amaze me how much energy and effort they provide to make sure we are having fun and catching fish.
Adding to the experience, the food has been fantastic with each day starting with a hearty breakfast, 10 am snack, great lunch, 3pm snack and gourmet dinners. Suffice it to say that all passengers will return "well nourished" many of which will need a few extra hours on the treadmill...
While I give Frank a hard time out of jest, it is amazing how much passion he has instilled in his crew to deliver an amazing experience to it's passengers. Hopefully, Frank has not taken my Little Frank comments in any other way but an endearing thank you for his friendship.
Another thank you goes out to Bill Nakaki who has done a great job as charter master along with Steve Tsujiuchi (who has only made 1 of the last 5 trips). Also, I forgot to mention the raffle we had on the trip out from Cabo and to thank all of the sponsors for the wonderful gifts. The fabulous contributors are as follows:
-Owner Hooks: Super Mutu 9/0 hooks, T-shirts & Hats
-AFTCO: Hats & T-shirts
-Calstar: 700H Rod
-John Yamate & Bill Golder: Wahoo Bombs
-Susan Beck: Embroidered bags
-Blackwater: 150lb Fluoro
-Fishermans Processing: Gift Certificates
-Chris Peterson-Special Wahoo Bomb
-Mike Hieshima: Absolutely Nothing
Personal Notes:
-Loosey & Jeff, the wahoo send their regards and will be ready for your next trip...
So with that note, I will close for now, but we will keep you posted on our daily events. The R/p crew.
