Bass fishing has been very good almost all over the lake, and are biting all types of hard and soft baits. Largemouth are on the beds, with smallmouth beginning to move out towards the main lake. Trout fishing slowed just a little bit, but overall action has been good. Shore anglers are picking up fish in Harvey's and the Mohawk area on PowerBait and nightcrawlers. Those who trolled CD Rapalas or dodger/crawler combos had some nice catches of both Calaveras and Nebraska "tail walkers". Most of these fish were being taken 10' to 15' in the water column. Crappie also were showing well in the narrows and Johnsons Bay, on trolled minnow imitations. Catfish to 6 lbs. were caught in Dead Horse canyon and most any cove with a defined creek channel, on mackerel and dough baits. Bow fishing for Carp has been good for some, and getting out early has been the key to success. Bluegill are starting to appear in the backs of shallow coves, and red worms and mealworms have been getting the best results.
