What a fun and exciting week here at Channel Islands Sportifhsing Center here at the beautiful Channel Islands. Tuesday March 20th we held the 3rd annual Fish4Food event. This is a wonderful event where 100% of the fish caught are donated to our local Ventura County food bank through Food Share. We had 10 boats set out at 9am filled with close to 300 anglers on a mission to feed the hungry. After 6 hours on the water all the anglers converged on CISCOs for a free meal and some awesome raffle prizes. Jerry Stussman who is the brain behind the event got his hands on 8 Avet reels and some Robelar Custom Rods. Over 2k in prizes given out and 350lbs of fillets were donated to help combat hunger. Nice reds, tasty chucks and a few lings made this trip a productive one for many of our fleet.  Overall a great event, special thanks goes out to the Gold Coast Lady Anglers, Jerry Stussman, Karen from Food Share, the boat captains and crew as well as all the anglers who came out to help. Can’t wait to see everyone again next year!
