Fishing at Glen Helen Lake was slow this week due to the high winds

The County stocked the lake with 1,000 lbs. of rainbow trout from Mt Lassen Hatchery on Thursday December 15th. The winds started to die down on Friday and some very nice fish were caught. Most anglers were catching their five (5) fish limit. The above photo shows Karl Williams of Alta Loma with 2 of his 5 trout. These fish weighed 8.73 and 8.24 lbs. each. Karl was fishing the small lake using PowerBait.

The next scheduled stocking will be Thursday December 22nd by Calaveras hatchery. Glen Helen Regional Park is closed to fishing on stock days. The park will open for fishing on Friday and Saturday, December 23 and 24. The park will be closed on Christmas day, December 25th so that the staff may enjoy the holiday with their families.
