Trout fishing continues to be awesome. Weekly and bi weekly stockings have made for nonstop action for shore anglers, boats and float tubers. Night crawlers and Power Bait working well for bait fisherman. Trout worms, jigs and crank baits working well for those throwing artificials. Orange, Chartreuse and White have been the best colors. A good bite for fly fisherman using black/silver bead head midges in the flats.

Big Trout of the week goes to John Ter-Stepanian, in the above photo of Burbank with a 10 lb. 06oz trout that hit Rainbow Power Bait on the shoreline at the launch ramp.

Other notable catches go to Robert Gonzales of Whittier who topped of his 5 fish limit with a 9 lb. 08 oz. trout caught on Salmon Egg Power Bait from the shoreline in Zone 2. German Carrillo of Carson caught a 9lb 04oz trout on a Lip Ripperz Z spoon in the flats off a boat. Jakob Gonterman of Huntington Beach nailed a 9 lb 01 oz trout tossing a green/orange Power Mouse at the corner of the boat dock on the shoreline. Jake Kiupelian of Torrance used a white (Trout King) worm to land a 9 lb 1 oz trout via float tube in the flats. Frank Pizana of Tustin weighed in a 9 lb trout that was caught on Chart. Power Bait at three pipes in a boat. Steve Lee of Cerritos kept a 9 lb Trout Fly fishing a black midge in the flats on a float tube. 12 more trophy trout were caught last week that weighed from 5 lb to 8 lbs in size. A great week for BIG fish!
