Sam Patella put his 25 anglers from a ten-day trip on the dock at Pt. Loma Sportfishing October 12. They had a good catch of big yellowtail and some miscellaneous species to go with them. The trip's chartermaster was Monte Parsons.

He told dock reporter Bill Roecker he caught it with a sardine on a 7/0 Mustad hook tied to 60-pound Blackwater fluorocarbon and 80-pound Izorline spectra. He used a TLD 30 reel with a Tiburon conversion and a Seeker 6460 XH glass rod.
Darren Scott of Lakeside won second place for a 39-pound forktail, and Dr. John Metcalf of Hayward got third place for a 38-pound mossback yellowtail from Alijos Rocks.
