Intrepid Does Some Successful Scratching At The Rocks
10-4-2011

"We scratched out another day here at the Rocks," the Intrepid report for October 3 noted. "We had a nice morning flurry that saw some very nice Tuna hit the deck and then the sharks had a flurry against us around midday and they took 6 or 7 fish in a row a couple of times during the day. The afternoon was a repeat of yesterday with a good showing of the quality Yellowfin, but getting a bite was a chore. You had to work at it in order to hook-up, but the reward of a Tuna from 60 to 100 pounds was well worth it. It was tough fishing for the most part on the Tuna with a few dozen Yellows mixed in there. We are now traveling north and will be looking to stop on some kelps tomorrow along the way."
