Mark Gillette

Mark Gillette called in to give us an update on the Eclipse, "We're out on a 1.5 Day trip here today, and enjoying the day. The morning started out really rough here, on the wind, it backed off here recently and it's getting nicer all the time. We got lucky and got into this zone here at 120-125 miles from the Mission Bay jetties and got into 2 kelps. We pretty much got what we needed on those Yellowtail, not great size on the Yellowtail. There were some throwbacks in there I'd call it 70/30 on the throwbacks. There was some nice grade fish in there too. It was good there was some good fishing here. It was really good for people who haven't done this type of fishing before. They bite readily when we do find them. They will bit 30# or 40# test line. Nothing to be ashamed of here, when they are throwbacks we throw'em back.

"We are rolling around now look'n for Bluefin now. We're a little bit closer to home as well. We're look'n around for that Bluefin, hopefully it pops its nose up here and we can get a shot on the Bluefin.

If you guys want to get out with us, our next 1.5 Day trip leaves on Sunday. It is departing from Seaforth Sportfishing call (619) 224-3383 to get aboard on that trip. That trip is a go so you guys want to get aboard on that trip. That's all for now.

Tight lines and sharp hooks!
