South Lake fIsh Report 06-17-07

The top spot this week was the rock slide and the area adjacent to the dam. Anglers had to work a little harder for their fish this week and limits had to be earned. Rainbow powerbait was the bait of choice this week but lure anglers and trollers definitely had an advantage over bait dunkers this week. Olive or black Wooly Buggers trolled slow was by far the most dependable tactic for decent numbers out of the lake while the bigger fish continue to be caught on jigs. Doug Wuersch of Garden Grove, CA and Peter Englert of Huntington Beach nailed a few lunkers at South Lake while fishing from a canoe on 6-15-07. They used green/red jigs. Doug's fish went 4lbs 10oz and Peter's went 4lbs 7oz.
