Intrepid Comes Back From The Rocks

Intrepid docked under Kevin Osborne's hand at Pt. Loma Sportfishing August 28 after an eight-day trip to Alijos Rocks, The Ridge and offshore. There were 26 anglers, and Gerry Tesselaar of Yucaipa was chartermaster on the San Bernadino County Sherriff's charter.
Dennis Parham of San Bernadino won first place for his 87.4-pound tuna. It bit a sardine on a 3/0 Owner Gorilla hook and 50-pound Big Game line. He said he used 65-pound Power Pro spectra on an Accurate 665 two-speed reel and a Seeker Classic 6470 rod.
Dennis Beene of Alta Loma won second place for a 71-pound tuna, and Hall Ruffner of Grand Terrace won third place for a 60.5-pound Alijos Rocks yellowfin tuna.
