"The weather has changed significantly," reported Searcher owner-operator Art Taylor August 22, "with windy conditions today. But even with the wind the fish cooperated. We were fortunate to find a school of mixed bluefin and yellowfin tuna that really wanted to bite. It was wide-open fishing for everyone on board and we left the fish biting. You could literally get a bite with every bait you cast. Wow, what a lot of fun!

We passed the school off to another boat in the area and it looked like they were catching fish as well. We don't get to see bluefin tuna bite like that very often so it is always memorable when it happens. We are headed to the Cedros area tonight and will arrive there first thing in the morning where we will try for yellowtail for a couple of days."

In other news, Polaris Supreme reported good yellowtail fishing at the islands, and Vagabond noted yellowfin tuna up to 75 pounds biting at Guadalupe Island. Both boats reported for August 22.
