The eight week mega-bite on dorado continues to provide limit fishing and all day long catch and release action. This has been a sustained fishery at the buoys and now, the fish have assembled at the closer buoys in the 5-7 miles areas from the Marina El Cid. The light tackle anglers and fly fishermen having been enjoying their "hayday" with the everyday fast action for dorado. The overall fish counts for this past week for a total of 15 offshore fishing days reflected 4 sailfish released, 10 yellowfin tuna to 50 lbs., and limit fishing for dorado in the 12-20 lb. ranges and a few bigger fish, too. The inshore super pangas fished only two days this past week and reported limits on dorado for both days.

Mazatlan Climate:
Mostly cloudy but warm days with temps ranging from 74 nights to 88 daytime highs and some scattered P.M. thunder showers throughout the area.

Sea Conditions:
Near excellent conditions throughout the area with offshore temps holding stable at 87-88 degrees and rising to 89 degrees on the inshore areas. Blue water begins at about 13 miles from the Marina El Cid. Light & variable tropical surface breezes in the 5-10 mph mode and just enough to be comfortable during the fishing day.

Best Fishing Area:
The dorado continue at the buoys and the closer in buys have been best this past week. The sailfish and yellowfin tuna were taken south of the Marina El Cid, in the 25-29 mile area.

Best Bait/Lure:
The dorado are liking the ballyhoo best for the trolling baits, and of course, live bait is working well, too. Sailfish best on the rigged mullet, slow trolled from the outriggers.
