Today was another beautiful day on the fishing grounds. We drifted all night last night and gotattacked by 10 to 20 pound squid and bluesharks.
When the morning came we picked up 1 smaller grade Yellowfin before we started to look around. We saw numerous spots of 12 to 25 pound Yellowfin and there were a couple of stops that we got a few that were a little bigger but most were released. In the late morning we started to see bigger fish on the meter and finally we saw what we were looking for, a nice spot of Bluefin.
When we got ahead of the spot of fish and slid baits in front of them we got multiple hook-ups right away. There was a few casulties as were expected but the end result was big Bluefin from 85 to 150 pounds and they put on a hell of a show for us. We were able to pick for about three hours but the longer we stayed drifting, the harder the Blue sharks were making it for us to fish. They were eating all of our baits and some were just biting off the sinkers the anglers had on their lines. For the day , we ended up with 24 Bluefin from 85 to 150 pounds, 18 Yellowfin and a few Dorado. A beautiful day of fishing!
One of the pictures that I am sending is of Gail Wade Adams with a 120 pound Bluefin which was one of the three she caught for the day.
