Hello Anglers,

Today we concentrated off-shore looking for Albacore and Bluefin. The nice weather allowed us to find spots of Albacore and Bluefin feeding on mackerel that were balled up on the surface. The Albacore were a very nice grade of fish ranging from 18 to 35 pounds, with the majority of those around 28 pounds. The Bluefin helped mix up the day with an occasional fish from 20 to 30 pounds. We had our best fishing in the mid morning to around lunch time, with it slowing down in the afternoon. We ended up with 49 Albacore and 10 Bluefin for our first day. Tomorrow we are going to head to Isl. Benitos for a shot at some Yellowtail, with hopes of having this gorgeous weather for a day at the island. The first picture that we are sending is of crew member Mark Hicks holding a nice Albacore on the gaff for happy angler Thorton Ibbenson. Reported by, Mike Pritchard

Hello Anglers,

Today we arrived San Benitos Island at 0400 hours to find cold dirty water. We really did not see much fish around until about 1000 in the morning when we saw some birds picking around east island. When we got the anchor down we hooked fish right away on the jigs and when we finally came tight on the anchor we seemed to keep one fish hooked for the few hours we were anchored at that spot. The grade...... Read More
