Hello Anglers,

Today we arrived San Benitos Island at 0400 hours to find cold dirty water. We really did not see much fish around until about 1000 in the morning when we saw some birds picking around east island. When we got the anchor down we hooked fish right away on the jigs and when we finally came tight on the anchor we seemed to keep one fish hooked for the few hours we were anchored at that spot. The grade of fish was a honest 18 to 22 pounds with a couple of fish around 25 to 28 pounds. They put on a good show for us and we caught them on jigs and bait both so it kept it exciting. Tomorrow we are going to be offshore looking for albacore for the few hours we have in the morning. Until tomorrow. Reported by: Shawn Steward
