Hello Anglers,
Welcome to day # 3 aboard the Excel. Today we fished Alijos Rocks, arriving at 9:30 in the morning, we spent some time trolling around before getting set up. We had nice weather and a good sign of fish all day long, good sign but not willing to bite. There was nice Yellowfin boiling around all day right next to the boat, chasing flying fish and not eating a bait with a hook in it. We did manage to land 2 quality Yellowfin and lost a few more. Also landed was the biggest Amberjack that I have ever seen, we estimate the fish at around 100 pounds. It was a good battle on 40# test, enough so that the fish was to worn out to be released. And with a fair pick on the Yellowtail up to 30 pounds that rounded out our day. We will be here in the morning hoping for a morning bite. Until tomorrow. Mike Pritchard.
