Hello Anglers,
We once again had beautiful weather to fish in today here at Benitos Island. In the morning we had a gray bite on 18 to 25 pound yellowtail in which we picked up picked up 49 fish by 0700. We sat on the anchor until noon and kept one to five fish going until then. The majority of the fish were on flylined baits but there was good fish to be caught if you could throw a surface iron any kind of distance. The seals were a real pain to us all morning they seemed to get one out of every eight fish that we hooked but they at least let a few get on the boat. At noon we tried another spot and picked up a few yellows and a small black sea bass that we released. The fish seemed to be a little less cooperative in the afternoon so we took off around 1500 to look at some different water above the island. We fished a few different kelps the rest of the day and picked up a couple dozen more yellows for the day. The picture that I am sending are of Gary Howard Sr. and Jr. with a pair of nice Yellowtail. .
