Anglers enjoyed mild temperatures and light winds this week as springtime conditions kept the trout bite very active. Trout action was good to very good with anglers using PowerBait (especially salmon peach, garlic, chartreuse and rainbow), night crawlers, jigs and lures to catch limits. Average trout caught per angler was 2.3. Hot spots included the western shore of lake 3 as well as the eastern and northern shores of lake 2.

Catfish were biting on Power Bait, shrimp and mackerel on the grassy point of lake 3 and the eastern shore of lake 2 with fish up to 4 pounds.

Post spawn bass action was very good on both lakes with anglers using senkos, spinner bait and night crawlers. Hot spots were the northern shore of lake 2 near the bridge, southeastern shore of lake 2 near the wall and the western shore of lake 3 from the pump house to the bridge.

The photo is of Eugene Todd of Victorville who caught this nice trout.
