"The tuna fishing down here seems to be on the upswing," reported Excel skipper Justin Fleck April 26, "with better signs of fish showing up all the time. It's strange, even though you see them jumping around throughout the day chasing flyers, they don't really want to bite until after dark. We had good action just after dinner last night and another go around from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. this morning, when we landed a dozen or so more of the better grade fish with some smaller ones mixed in. Hopefully conditions continue to improve. Also, the wahoo are still being pests chewing up all the leaders on the boat. Just about everyone is done with them."
