The on going fishing fiesta from Puerto Morelos continues to please
the anglers with a wide-variety mixed bag catch that again included a
couple of off season sailfish in the mix. The overall counts for 18
days fished reflected 2 sailfish, 8 king mackerel, 38 bonito, 4 blue
runners, 1 rainbow runner, 1 jack cravelle, 1 Spanish mackerel, 5
Atlantic barracuda, 5 grouper, 8 triggerfish and 9 snapper,
(consisting of mutton, red and yellowtail snappers).
Puerto Morelos Climate: Partly cloudy days with coolish nights and warmer days with temps from 54 nights to 85 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Mostly light and variable tropical surface breezes with stable temps holding at 80 degrees and bristol clear waters.
Best Bait: Continues to be the rigged, skirted and un-rigged fresh ballyhoo.
