The fishing for Salmon was good for the anglers who worked the Soquel Hole up to 3 Trees. The bite was good in the morning and it slowed down around 11:00. The fish are still running in 240-350 feet and a few are in the deep edges of the Soquel Hole Canyon. The scores ranged from 1-6 fish a boat for the anglers who were on the water early. The fish were taking Purple Haze Kajikis, Blue Kajikis, Krippled Anchovies, and Watermelon Apexes. The best depths were from 60-120 feet down on the troll. I can't stop expressing that the fish are Big so increase your main line and leaders! I weighed in the biggest of the year today! The Salmon was caught on a Purple Haze Kajiki and weighed 38 pounds gilled and gutted. It was nice to see that this hog was taken care of with plenty of ice and gilled and gutted! This young angler Scott may look young but he has many years on the Bay and it paid of today. The bite may nit be wide open but you have a great chance of catching a fish of a lifetime. There were a few scores at 36'52/121'53 that ranged from 2-4 fish a boat. The water was flat calm all day long and it looks the same for the morning so come fishing. The Rockcod fishing was good for the anglers who worked the local reefs. I did not hear of many Halibut today.
