Shogun Sportfishing Trip Update (091210)

GREAT YELLOWTAIL FISHING (091210)!!! It was great Yellowtail fishing throughout the morning, by 10:00 most of the passengers had their fill of that class of Yellowtail. In the dark the Yellows and White Sea Bass wanted the squid on the dropper loops, but once the sun came up and the bait started moving around the Yellows turned on to the Salas 7x in a big way. Matt and the boys over at Salas are coming out with some fantastic fish killer colors. The rest of the day was spent in search of the larger grade that roams up and down the lee ward side of Cedros. The only down turn of the day was when we had to leave and discovered once we cleared the north head that the wind was up and we are in for a bumpy ride up the line. Note: If you are on a long range trip in the near future, remember to bring your small squid jigs as we are seeing good sign of the bait size(Catalina) squid in the area. The best rig we found was Lead Masters "Original Squid Catcher", as it stated on the package "Irresistible Glowing Action At Each Hook". I sure you can find them at your local tackle shop, but I know for sure Fisherman's Landing tackle has a stock of these rigs. One Cast, One Kill, Bruce A. Smith
