New Hogan Reservoir Fishing Report
8-29-2010
Bruce Hamby
Between a full moon and low pressure threw the striper bite into a downward tail spin! Early in the week we were only picking up 4 fish per day, with numerous short strikes. As we moved into the latter part of the week action improved to 7 fish per day. Shad, anchovies and herring are still my bait of choice. Try trolling in the main lake 15 to 25 feet deep, working near shore in the early morning and move out into deeper water by mid morning. Surface temperature is 80 degrees.
