Lake New Hogan Fishing Report
8-1-2010
Bruce Hamby
Not much changed in the striper action it's still wide open! Our daily catch is 9 per day in the 4 to 6 lbs. class. However, weekends averages drops to 6 per day, mainly because of heavy boat traffic. The line sides are holding in the main 20 to 40 feet deep. Trolling shad, anchovies, haring and night crawlers is our method of take. We're also staring to pick up a few channel catfish 3 1/2 to 4 lbs. Boils are staring to occur in the late afternoon. Lake surface temperature is 81 degrees.
Picture 1- Don Theile and Rich Michaels of Danville was thrilled with the size of the fish they caught on light tackle.
Picture 2 - John Kidd and Allen Cover of Modesto settled on these 8 fish after releasing 6 others.
