Silver Lake Fishing Report

8-7-2010
Andrew Jones

Fishing at Silver Lake has continued to be stellar this past week. Fishing from shore, a boat or in Rush Creek has produced amazing stringers and some even better looking larger size rainbows. On Rush Creek, anglers have been doing good using a dry fly or tossing a lure. Using a mosquito, sierra bright dot, or a black gnat has done real well on Rush catching nice stockable size rainbows this week. Flipping a Super Duper or a Rooster Tail has also been a good ticket in Rush this week. From Silver Lake, in a boat, using a green Olive Matuka or green Wooly Bugger streamer has produced very nicely. Getting deeper in the water seems to be the better bet as the water temperature is getting warmer everyday. Still fishing at the inlet of Rush Creek into Silver Lake has also produced some bigger size rainbows, using Salmon Peach Power bait or Worms. still fishing from shore, try using Salmon Egg Red, garlic, or Salmon Peach Power Bait during the heat of the day and try using a worm or a Lip Ripper early morning or late afternoon. We will be getting a load of Alper's Trout every week from August 9th through September 13th so get ready for continued great fishing at Silver Lake.

Fish of the Week:

Aubrey Roadhouse of Lancaster caught a 4lb 1 oz. Rainbow on Silver Lake from a boat using Salmon Peach Power Bait.
