THANK YOU SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON for the 74 Alpers! !

GREAT NEWS ! ! ! ??We received 74 Alpers ranging in size from 4 - 8 pounds courtesy of Southern California Edison on Wednesday and a Department of Fish and Game stocking on Thursday and the weather couldn`t have been more beautiful.

Fishing has been most productive in the back part of the lake. Trolling the shoreline with lures with a bit of red on them brought in quite a few limits. Examples of lures with a bit of red are the Red and Gold Thomas Buoyant, SuperDupers, Mepps and the Panther Martin. And no surprise, the inlet is doing well with worms, salmon eggs and orange PowerBait.B
A few big fish were caught this week, not as many as we thought would be caught what with the large Alper stocking (Thank you, SCE). Charly Haslam from Vista pulled in a 1-3/4 pounder caught on PowerBait. Don Duarte of Newport Beach landed a nice 3-pounder also on PowerBait. And another caught on PowerBait was a beautiful 4-3/4 pounder brought in by Victor Ramirez of Gardena. The lunker of the week took a group effort to bring it on board - Kristin Baumann of North Hollywood and Brian and Lupe Boulton landed a 6 pound beaut. Way to go! Thank you

The lake is coming up slow, but at least it`s starting to rise. We are not sure how high it is going to get and how long it will stay up, but at least it`s starting to come up a bit.

We had a black lab that got out of the owner`s truck on Thursday, May 17th. It was picked up by a father and son who were in a gray - gold - taupe Chevy Z71 extended cab. Please give us a call if you happened to have picked up the dog. The owner extended his trip, stopped by the lake 3 mornings hoping the people who picked up his dog had come back to see if anyone had lost a dog.

The temperatures have been in the high 60s to low 70s and in high 40`s for the low. Our local weather guesser is guessing for temps to cool down for Monday and Tuesday of this week and then start going back up to the high 60s to low 70s for Memorial Weekend, but if you will remember last year Thursday and Friday were nice and warm, then the temps dropped and we had snow. There is NO snow expected over the weekend, but just be prepared - just in case.

The skeeters are starting to show up and these are BIG! Don`t forget the BUG JUICE!

Remember your polarizers, sunscreen, bug juice and PONCHO along with a few layers of clothes - just in case..

If you have any questions, send an email to LakeSabrina@msn.com or give us a call at 760-873-7425. ??If you are receiving duplicate emails, let me know and I'll remove one or all of them and if you just can't stand receiving the beautiful pictures and fishing news, just let me know and I'll remove yours.

Rick, Patti, Juanita and Jarodd
