Brrrrrrrrrrrr - was the only way to describe the weather this week with a bit of snow and lots of wind. Fishermen braved the cold weather on Saturday with plenty of limits seen leaving the lake. The weather is expected to start warming Sunday. Already at 9:00 am, Sunday, we were warmer than we ever hit on Saturday and NO wind.
A few larger fish were nabbed during the week; two by Freddy Snyder of Palmdale on a Blue Fox lure. The smaller of the two weighed in at 3-3/4 lbs and the larger topped the scale at 4-1/4 lbs, Bob Levindofske of Anaheim caught a nice 3 pounder drowning a worm. One angler`s trek to the inlet turned out a great day of fishing with almost every cast bringing in a fish - the bait? - Salmon Eggs.
Fishing was a bit slow this week, what with the full moon and the two storms that came in at the end of the week. Shore fishing produced a few nice limits for the hardy souls enduring the cold temperatures and wind - 19 degrees (wind chill) was the high on Saturday. Didn`t see many trollers this week.
So to recap: the standards are still working at Lake Sabrina - Night crawlers, PowerBait and Salmon Eggs. Not many anglers trolling yet. A few float tubers, but we haven`t really had a hatch to speak of, although we did have a few LARGE skeeters show up on Opening weekend, but I think the cold took care of that crop.
Remember your polarizers, sunscreen, bug juice and PONCHO along with a few layers of clothes - just in case..
If you have any questions, send an email to ??LakeSabrina@msn.com or give us a call at 760-873-7425. ??If you are receiving duplicate emails, let me know and I'll remove one or all of them and if you just can't stand receiving the beautiful pictures and fishing news, just let me know and I'll remove yours.
