What a beautiful Mom`s Day Weekend! The weather was awesome! The fishing spectacular. Lots of limits. No wind to speak of. So if you weren`t here - you missed it.
For William Johnston of Montclair and James McClure of Claremont their great week also include a couple of Alpers. William caught his on PowerBait and tipped the scales at 4-3/4 pounds, while James` 5-1/4 pound Alper was caught using a gold Mepps.
Shore fishermen with limits were seen using orange PowerBait by the dam while others trekked back to the inlet and did great using worms and salmon eggs. The trollers using flashers with worms or lures with a bit of red were also getting lots of fish.
The first plant of the season by the Department of Fish and Game was this past Monday and we expect weekly stockings through the end of the season.
The temperatures are in the high 60s and the lows in the mid 40s. The road to North Lake is now open as are most of the campgrounds. The only campgrounds remaining closed are Willow (on the South Lake Road), Sabrina Camp and the North Lake campgrounds. We think those will be open before Memorial Day.
The skeeters are starting to show up and these are BIG! Don`t forget the BUG JUICE!
Remember your polarizers, sunscreen, bug juice and PONCHO along with a few layers of clothes - just in case..
If you have any questions, send an email to ??LakeSabrina@msn.comor give us a call at 760-873-7425. ??If you are receiving duplicate emails, let me know and I'll remove one or all of them and if you just can't stand receiving the beautiful pictures and fishing news, just let me know and I'll remove yours.
