Jess Ranch Lake Fishing Report

6-13-2010
Jess Ranch Lakes Staff

This week unusually cool weather and eastern and northern breezes produced a trout bite that kept anglers working their tackle and baits. Anglers who persevered caught some nice size ( most near or over two pounds and many over three pounds) trout. Best bite was before 10 am with a late afternoon kick. Anglers used Power Bait ( especially salmon peach, garlic, spring green and Fl. Orange), night crawlers, jigs and lures to catch their trout. Hot spots included the eastern shore and grassy point of Lake 3 as well as the eastern and northern shores of lake 2. Catfish are biting on night crawlers, chicken livers and shrimp from the western shore of lake 3 and the western and northern shores of lake 2. Bass bite is on, with anglers using senkos and spinner bait from the western shore of lake 3 and the southwestern and western shores of lake 2. Anglers also report good size on most bass with fish up to 4 pounds. Bluegill are just starting to hit night crawlers, meal worms and small jigs from the southern and western shores of lake 2 and the western shore of lake 3. Anglers are reporting good size (one pound average) on the Bluegill. The Lakes' Hatchery stocks trout every Friday year round. This year the Lakes' hatchery is amping up the weekly trout stockings with bigger fish overall.

Hours: Friday through Sunday--7am to 4pm. For more information call (760)240-1107 or go to www.jessranchlakesnews.com
