Puerto Morelos Fish Report
4-15-2010
Larry Edwards
A terrific fishing week from Puerto Morelos with a sustained bite on the sailfish and just a great overall action week for the anglers. General Manager, Armando Gutierrez, reported the fishing over the past couple of weeks has been a welcome upswing mode with the 6-8- hour charters having very good success with the sailfish. The overall fish counts for a total of 22 outings reflected a varied catch that included 12 sailfish, 9 dorado, 23 king mackerel, 1 wahoo, 3 bonito, 2 Atlantic barracuda, 18 triggerfish, 7 grouper and 36 red snapper.
PM Climate: Mostly cloudy days with some scattered rain showers and temps from 68 nights to 84 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Temps stable at 82 degrees throughout the area. Easterly breezes at about 15 knots and surface wind chop.
Best Bait: Continues to be the rigged and un-rigged ballyhoo for all of the varieties of fish in this area.
