Puerto Morelos Fish Report
3-18-2010
Larry Edwards
Another wide variety fishing week from the Puerto Morerlos region,
with the anglers rarely knowing what the next bite may produce. This
area is widely known for its wide spectrum of game fish but coming
soon will be the sailfish and marlin season, typically May thru July
being the peak months for the billfish. Catches for this week for 13
days fished reflected 3 Atlantic barracuda, 8 king mackerel, 1 shark,
1 wahoo, 1 grouper, 2 Sierra, 3 dorado, 24 bonito, 16 triggerfish, 8
redsnapper and 2 javones.
PM Climate: A few partly cloudy days but overall, good weather with
temps ranging from 61 nights to 85 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: The normal tropical surface breezes from the
Easterly directions with sea temps stable at 79 degrees and excellent
clarity throughout the fishing areas.
Best Bait: Continues to be the rigged and un-rigged ballyhoo, all
fresh caught each day.
