Watershed Restoration Grant Proposals Now Being Accepted

The California Department of Fish and Game (DFG) is accepting proposals for fisheries restoration projects in California's coastal watersheds through April 8, 2010. Approved projects will propose measures consistent with DFG's Steelhead Restoration and Management Plan for California and the Recovery Strategy for California Coho Salmon, and NOAA's Southern California Steelhead Recovery Plan Public Review, Draft Version.

Funding for proposals submitted under this proposal solicitation notice are subject to the availability of funds and approval of the Budget Act for the state fiscal year 2010-2011. Funding for fiscal year 2010-2011 is expected to be approximately $12 million. Grant agreements will not be in place until the summer of 2011.

All documents needed to apply for these grants - including the 2010 Fisheries Restoration Grants Program (FRGP) application form, complete instructions and contact information - are available at www.dfg.ca.gov/fish/Administration/Grants/FRGP/Solicitation.asp.

Applicants should note that the application requirements and procedures have changed from previous years. Applicants must submit the 2010 FRGP application form with all proposals, and the 2010 Solicitation should be used as a reference document in order to ensure compliance with DFG requirements.

Proposals submitted by mail must be postmarked no later than April 8, 2010. Proposals delivered by any other means, including hand delivery, must be delivered no later than 3 p.m. on April 8. All proposal packages must be addressed to Department of Fish and Game, 830 S Street, Sacramento, CA 95811.
