THE GAVIOTA SPORTFISHING FLEET AND FISH CABO FLEET

The striper action fell off over the full moon and made the billfish bite quite difficult. On the other-hand, the dorado bite remained high and kept the anglers into some fair action, with the boats averaging about 6 dorado per boat day fished. The overall catch reporty for 31 combined fishing days reflected 12 stripers, (11 released) 2 roosterfish, 13 yellowfin tuna and 187 dorado.

Cabo Climate: Mostly sunny days and clear skies with temps from 58 nights to 80 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Continues to be good throughout the area with temps at 75-77 from the Golden Gate Bank to the Gordo Banks. Fishable in all of the areas.

Best Fishing Area: Continues to be on the Pacific side, from the Cabo Falso Drop-off to Golden Gate Bank

Best Bait?Lure: Live bait was best for the billfish. Dorado were biting well on the live bait but were also fairly eager on the artificials, too, with multi-colored lures working very well, especially in the mackerel colors.

Live Bait Supply: Not reported this week.
