Monterey Bay Fish Report 05-05-2007

Bayside Marine

The Salmon bite remained the same today with anglers catching 0-3 fish a boat. The best area was around 36'51/121'59 to 36'51/121'56. The Salmon are moving in to the shallow water in the flats so if your in a small boat you might want to try 100-120 feet. There were 3 reports of Salmon caught in 100-150 feet of water. The water was nice in the morning with some afternoon chop later in the day. The wind is expected to start dropping in the morning so come give the Salmon a try. The Salmon were caught on Red Krocodiles, Green Krippled Anchovies, Watermelon Apexes, and Red Bullet Rotators. The Rockcod fishing was decent between Natural Bridges and South Rock in 55-100 feet of water. There was a 15 pound Salmon caught of South Rock today.
